Public and stakeholder involvement and coordination is crucial to the success of any Master Plan. Throughout the course of the planning study, there will be opportunities for community engagement and input. As SWO is recognized as an essential transportation and economic development asset for the region, we want to hear from you—the community members and stakeholders—on your thoughts and ideas regarding SWO’s future. We will update the content regularly on these project webpages, so we invite you to check back often. We will also communicate about project progress via SWO’s social media channels. Check out this project website, send us comments, follow us on social media, and attend public meetings to learn more about the Airport and the Master Plan.
For more information on our outreach and communication goals, formal process for stakeholder engagement, and approach for sharing the Airport’s Master Plan vision throughout the planning process, please see the SWO Master Plan Outreach & Communications Plan.
We anticipate holding two public information meetings as shown on the project schedule. As public information meetings are scheduled, you will find information about the dates, times, locations, and topics of those meetings on this page.
We invite you to send us your feedback at any time. Use this comment form below to submit your thoughts to the planning team.
To help engage the community, we have developed a Master Plan Study Committee that will meet five times during the project. The Study Committee is made up of a variety of airport tenants, local government representatives, Oklahoma State University representatives, airport users, and other stakeholders, and will be more closely involved in the project than the public at large. The Study Committee will provide feedback on draft work products prepared by the Airport’s consultant team during the process of formulating the plan’s ultimate recommendations.
The Study Committee serves several important functions including:
Representing a broad range of stakeholder groups
Receiving information about the project and sharing it with constituents
Providing input to the project as the voice of key stakeholders
In some cases, providing technical advice to the project team
The committee is made up of representatives from the following entities:
Airport Advisory Board
City of Stillwater
Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Control
Transportation Security Administration
Airline
Fixed-Base Operator
OSU Aviation Program
Chamber of Commerce
Oklahoma State Long Range Planning
Stillwater Regional Airport
